Keller1's Stock Exhaust mod
|
Forum member Keller1 has done a fairly extensive and cool looking modification to his stock ACE exhaust. Here is what he had to say about the mod... (edited for structure)
"I cut about 18" out of the stock exhaust on my 2003 750 Ace with a metal cutting saw. I then took a torch and cut out the remaining internal baffles and butt welded a 3 - 1/2" pipe and a 90 degree fitting. I reinstalled this and ran it and decided that I loved the sound. I then took it off again and cut a slash cut in the 90 degree fitting using a large band saw, to make it look cool. I also took some time to smooth out the welds and fill in any pits before chrome plating. Also, you must remove the heat shields and their plastic retainers before sending off to the chromers. They just simply slide off, pushing towards the front of the bike on the front shield and pushing back on the back shield."
